This small, family run hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Situated very close to the Colosseum, it's clean, well turned out rooms with air conditioning and the family that run it are friendly and pay close attention to every detail to make you stay as comfortable as possible. The restaurant underneath is superb with a first rate service and excellent food, they even accommodated us when we turned up starving in the morning begging for an off menu breakfast after an abismal night's stay in the horrific Riviera Hotel, around the corner. It's listed here as a 1 star hotel which I think must be wrong but if it is only 1 star, it shouldn't be. Will stay there again if I'm back in lovely Pula!

Another Tip on the Hotel Scaletta This hotel really was a great deal given the ideal location, service and room quality. Pula may not be a destination high on the list of travellers who frequently visit Croatia but the city's cultural and historical attractions make it a worthwhile visit and staying in a place like the Scaletta makes visiting those attractions easy.

FABULOUS WEATHER Take a boat ride - very relaxing.

Pula itself There are certainly some excellent attractions to see in Pula but overall we found the town itself a bit disappointing. Perhaps not entirely the fault of the locals, but the town did appear very run down in many places and was far from making the most out of what it had. Also there was a lot rubbish, a lot of which seemed to have been dropped only feet or metres away from a rubbish bin. A clean up and some repairs would make a very welcome improvement. I'd recommend people to visit there but I think you'd find nicer towns to stay in nearby where you can visit from.
