+ very nice food, nice local bread and sweet baked stuff. will prepare breakfast at 6 am if necessary. not too far from the centre. - beach not impressive, service does not always understand english and sometimes forgets about what they promised.

Heat The weather can be extremely hot between April and October - so be prepared.

Restaurants Some great family run restaurants - look where the locals are eating. We were impressed at the lack of international fast food outlets (dare I say McDonalds) - long may they stay away! The standard of food served in the town and the service was wonderful - we have almost forgotten how this works in the UK. Would definitely recommend Croatia to friends - especially if you are not looking for a sophisticated destination. One small gripe - they do not have no smoking policy in most restaurants - OK if you are outside, difficult if you are a non-smoker inside. You just have to remain up-wind!
