Top Local Tips for Lopud
Visiting the Old City Go early in the morning, we got there at 7:30am (the boat from Lopud Island was at 6:20am) it was cooler and not many tourists were around, most of the shops opened early and the coffee shops were open when we got there. The place was packed with tourists from around 11am onwards and it got very hot.
Things to do ? The only thing to do is relax ! ! !
Sunset There are amazing sunset's to be seen on Lopud, and if you don't want to be at the top of the Fort when the sun goes down, then the next best place to watch is a 15 minute walk from the hotel (out the front door, turn left) When the path reaches the end of the island, there is a little concrete 'gezebo' where you can sit and watch a totally unobstructed view of the sun setting. Very beautiful and peaceful.

I didn't know where Lopud was but is sounded a bit of an adventure. Flight, coach and boat were fun, saw dolphins on the boat taxi to the hotel. Hotel was clean, although smelt of smoke. Huge balcony overlooking the sea and other islands. Slight problem with rooms as we had booked two adjoining on a half board basis. After second night gave us a family room, which suited, plus a refund and upgraded us to all inclusive. Very accommodating and apologetic. Pool lovely, food superb, even for a vegetarian and able to drink the lovely water so no tummy bugs. Beauty of this place is that there are no cars and everything is within walking distance. Visit the lovely Sunj beach on the other side of the island (heaven) - quite a walk but well worth it. The beach hut served the most wonderful fresh and cheap food (all of us ate for under £10). Various reasonable eateries on the Lopud waterfront to choose from and a fantastic ice cream parlour. Never been on a holiday where I've brought money home. Fantastic value. Can't wait to go back again.
