Top Local Tips for Dubrovnik

Off Peak We went to Dubrovnik in November 2006. The weather was brilliant, 18-20 degrees most days, but many of the boats to the islands were no longer running regular services. Most of the stores, shops on teh islands were also closed. Having said this, it was a great time to look around the old city as there were a lot less tourists than during peak time.

Use your feet Use your feet to see the sights. We stayed in the Argosy Hotel at Babin Kuk and from there it's easy to walk to lots of interesting places around the peninsula (once you find the right paths). Check out the info books in your hotel for all tour operators and you'll find lots of info about walking routes. The Old Town's a bit too far from Babin Kuk to walk there but the bus service is frequent, cheap and reliable. PS: Not keen on the ice cream in Dubrovnik - too much ice and too little cream.
