Top Local Tips for Dubrovnik
Day Trips from Dubrovnik Dubrovnik has enough sights only for two days. However we enjoyed day trips to to Cavtat, Lokrum Island and Trsteno Arbotetum. We also went by mini-bus to Mostar. Allowing for stops, road works etc the journey there took four hours. We had only an hour and a half in Mostar itself. Getting there and back took too long for the time we had there.
Not exceptional food Most restaurants in Dubrovnik seem to be Ok but menu's are often the same and standard of food is at best average!
Atlas excursions Although they are a big concern, Atlas tours in Croatia are very expensive (you can organise them much more cheaply yourself) and the tours are rushed, poorly organised and have a 'cattle herd' feel about them. This is not the case with most excursions I have taken right across Europe, so I'm not just out to complain!
