Top Local Tips for Dubrovnik

old town tourist trap the old town is a wonderful place to see but is essentially a walled city trapping in far too many tourists. there is a lot more to see and do around the outskirts of the old town, especially for a younger crowd

staying outside the old town I would recommend staying outside the old town as it is much easier to get away from the other travellers and tourists. It is much less hectic, an easier walk to a less crowded beach, restaurants aren't situated in thoroughfares. Our hotel in Lapad had a fabulous balcony, a bonus watching the sunsets - I didn't see much accommodation in the old town with this. As we also had a fridge, we chilled wine and were able to refrigerate other items [cheese, tomatoes etc] so it cut down on costs but it was divine having the

Taverna Arsenal Great location, good service, only passable food, poor value.
