We stayed seven nights half-board. The room, maid service, and air-conditioning were very good. The sat-TV was of little use as there were no English language news channels - a number of German channels though. Food was generally very poor. As said by a previous reviewer, the buffet breakfast was very predictable but the main course at dinner was the worst - soggy overcooked vegetables and poor meat. The thin scraggy sole one night would hardly have satisfied a kitten far less a mature adult. Some of the waiters were good but on the other hand I do not expect to order a main course whilst I'm on the starter and then have it plonked on the table before I've even finished the starter. This hotel was not in the same league as 4-star hotels I have been to in other parts of Croatia. The resort and beach were very busy. I would certainly consider returning to Baska Voda but in June or September when the beach would probably be quieter and would go bed and breakfast or even self-catering but certainly not to the Horizont. Don't waste your money on half-board. There are plenty of restaurants in the town providing a good evening mealat reasonable prices.
