Top Local Tips for Varna
the park and beach The park (sea garden ) is huge and has lots of attractions , restaurants , kids play area , kids battery operated cars .The park has loads of trees and is very shady .The beach is jam packed with people , and resembles a giant ashtray as there is so many fag butts.
Best beach Golden Sands for modern, busy resort with large clean beaches. Cape Kaliakra for bohemian, hidden golf (with beach bar however!). Going out in general is very inexpensive and great value for money.
Only take cabs with a phone number on the side In Varna every cab company can set their own meter prices. Taxis with phone numbers on the side are part of a larger organization and charge reasonable rates catering to locals. At the airport you will see mostly individually owned cabs without phone numbers on the side. These guys charge around 3-4 times the going rate. It may be a good idea to ask your hotel to call for a taxi to pick you up or wait until a cab drops somebody off and grab that cab.
