| Hotel Pirin, Review - Clean But Dodgy Food! |
|
Really liked Bansko for the boarding and the lessons from Boris on the slopes was fantastic! The hotel was clean but not a 4* rating in my opinion. The rooms were comfortable, small bathroom but clean generally. Food in the hotel was bland, unimaginative and not for most of the guests (including ourselves) not terribly edible! We would go back to Bansko but from speaking to other tourists, the Kempinski would be the hotel of choice for food, accommodation and next to the ski lift. Pirin is a good 15 mins walk from the ski lift BUT there is a bus running at certain times through the day to and from the hotel. At the end of the day, the Happy End Bar is a MUST - right opposite the ski lifts! We pretty much lived on the soup available on the slop but didn't venture to try the tripe soup!!! We spent more money than we had anticipated - seems like they are charging more than in previous years BUT still seems to be less expensive than France & Austria. |
