On a very crowdy evening we were waiting for our meal and were being served behind a big group. We had ordered filet mignon medium rear. The meat was served way too late and was kind of dark grey. When I told the waitress that this meat was way overdone because it had taken so long. She agreed and took it back to the kitchen. What happended then was unbelievable. The owner had lost it and came to our table and claimed he served the perfect tender cut, yelling at us in a very crowded restaurant. It was really embarrassing. We said well show us. Then he came back empty handed and said the chef was very angry and had thrown the filet in the trash can. Then we said OK we want to pay everything we consumed untill now some wine and a starter. He then came back with the meat and wanted to serve us (out of the trash can). We said no thanks we are going and then he started to call us names and threatened to call the police! so we thought maybe be the wisest and paid for the "trash can filet" and left. My wife said well I thought the customer is King. And the owner replied "The customer might be King but I am The Emperor!"
we ended up at the Chinese restaurant in town being welcomed with a fliendly smile. What a bummer!

When staying in Poperinge for a night, I stayed and ate in the Amfora.
The room was dirty and aged, it wasn't quality for money at all!
I know that Poperinge is known for the WWI, so that it wasn't the most luxury place to be during that time but someone should tell the owner we are in the 21st century.
The food wasn't nice at all, I got a food poisonning from it, so that explains all.
Overall this was the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant and hotel.

I was welcomed by the new manager (Franky) himself
and had a lovely breakfast and eveningmeal.
The room, with view on the market, was all you could ask for. For me it was a very fine experience, This place made me feel at home.
