As part of a coachload of old-farts I found the hotel clean & comfortable. We were on a limited coach party menu but the food was still excellent, although I don't recommend the English Breakfast! Sited very handy for the wonderful tram system. The main draw back I found - absolutely nothing to do with the hotel - was bit of street noise at night from passing yobbos. If you could smuggle in a sniper rifle with a silencer in your luggage you could do everybody a favour. I think it only effected the rooms on the LH end - we were in 209. Oh, you might want to take some of your own toilet roll.

We had a jolly good time at the Royal Astrid despite the inclement weather the food was plentiful, rooms clean and comfortable. Very pleasant staff. A little bit of a walk to centre but close to tram and beach. We will be going back in the summer.

Top Local Tips for Oostende

no night life No night life except on weekends. The market and even restaurants close down by 7.00PM. Hard to find food after 7PM

Where to eat? Seafood is a must but we still haven't discovered the perfect place. And in winter the town is hugely over-supplied with restaurants.
