Hotel was totally disappointing, room was small, bathroom was tiny not at all like the pics on internet. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. On the plus side the rooms were clean and the food was good although there was no choice on the menu. The staff were friendly. Not sure I would go to same hotel.

Room clean and comfortable but no tea making facilities. Hair dryer in dangerous position above washbasin. Food reasonably good, but take or leave it. Smell from toilets in the bar so strong, many of our party had to move, which made us feel sorry for entertainer.

Stayed at Astoria for six days and loved it. All staff very friendly, our room was clean and our bed was comfy. The food was really nice and plenty of it!!! Looking forward to going back there as its close to everything and just a really pleasant hotel to stay in. Me and my hubby had a great time and the coach party were brilliant!!

Room small but ok, food no choice. Very stuffy, too hot, no aircon. Beer was free (all in), very poor choice had to pay extra for better beer. Location good

Food was very basic, evening meal no choice, meat/fish, 1 veg, 1 type of potato, no kind of drink available unless purchased. No coffee or tea making facility in room. All inclusive means for a few hours most nights. Rooms small but clean

Top Local Tips for Oostende

getting around excellent tram service, get the tram to Blankenburg or a train to Brugge. Very good service and very cheap.

Belgian chocs! When visiting Belgium, Belgian chocolates are always a brilliant gift to take back home, there are no end to the amount of chocolate shops you'll find around Ostend, but, they tend to be pretty expensive! Instead, visit the weekly market for some fantastic bargain chocolates which taste just as good as the real thing. Forget paying €10 for one box of chocolates in a store, I got 3 boxes for €10 - gift shopping done!!
