Bad service, facilities, more like B&B (no hotel star rating!!)

The so called hotel is just around the corner of the 'redlightdistrict' of Gent. Our room (2 nights 138 ) had no windows, the shower (we payed for) was broken en the beds were very bad, the room wasn't very clean, the sheets were clean, the pillows not. We left (tired) after one night, breakfast was good. We searched for another hotel. Lots of them told us that this Hotel (Den Ijzer) wasn't really a hotel but more like a pension (without stars). They weren't surprised at all! We just remembered we forgot to place a review last year. Maybe it's little by little better now (But we are sure we take no chances!).
