Worst experience staying at that hotel. they are robbers, My bag was stolen from my chair while I was doing breakfast. several others cases have been registered where people have lost their belongings in the hotel and the staff acts wiered. NOT RECOMMENDED.........

The hotel is in undesireable neighborhood. Breakfast is good. Some of the staff were not helpful. Could improve the customer service, for sure.

Not a very good location if you want to be in the heart of the city, but right next to the southern train station. You have to walk thru some so-so neighborhoods (I would walk thru them at night but would not let my daughters do it) to get to the main area of Brussels, but it is only about 10-15 minutes. We were there in that horribly hot summer in 2003, so we sweltered in our non-air-conditioned room. However, the room was huge and very nice, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Since it was so hot, however, we had to open the windows, so it was rather noisy, being near, but not on, a busy street.
The staff were great and helpful, the breakfasts were good, but there were few other restaurants nearby, and the one open at the hotel seemed to have non-family hours. Recommended for a train-and downtown-accessible, fairly inexpensive, clean and comfortable and nicely appointed, modern, but non-American-type, hotel.

Eurostar travellers, this is a good option for a hotel that's close to the main train station and only a 10 minute walk to the main centre of town. If arriving at night and it's already dark, my advice is ask a local of it's location (street or Hotel name) because although it is only a very close 500m from the train staion, it is not well lit up and you'll be wandering around for a good hour before you figure out that it's staring you in the face. The rooms are very spacious and clean and if you like to sleep in, the curtains are well dark enough to keep any hint of sun out of the room. If I had to go back to Brussels again, I'd definately opt for this hotel, great value for travellers requiring an inexpensive hotel!! 7/10 rating from me.

Top Local Tips for Brussels

Great restaurant... ...Le Ptit Pont in Uccle, a bit aways from the center, but well worth the tram trip or a taxi.

Neuhaus chocolates On my last day, I bought some choccies to bring back. Because Neuhaus in the Galleries (bigger - more choice) was closed, I walked in the the small branch on Grand Place. I was very surprised to find that it was cheaper than the Challeries one! I even told the staff there at which they seemed surprised and said it was probably there was a lot more people doing shopping there, that's why it was more expensive. Wow. The difference was about a Euro so it's worth just going in the Grand Place branch and buying loads! :-)

Midi Station really close The Midi Station is super close and you can go there to catch a train to other Belgium cities. Bruges and Ghent were about 1 hr away and it is wonderful, you can just walk from the train stations to see those places. I recommend you get the Frommers walking tours of those cities.
