Had a great night there: lovely spacious room, great gym and pool and expensive but luxurious breakfast. Service was fine. And of course the promised bed really was very comfortable.

Excellent hotel, quality throughout. Lovely, very spacious rooms, fantastic pool and facilities. Courteous and friendly staff. About 10mins walk from the Grand Place. Metro Station right outside for access to airport. If you can get a deal from the website. stay in this hotel.

Good location

As a luxury hotel not a touch on the Conrad but good value for money at around £85 pn per room.

Best aspect is the location - metro (Rogier) just outside the door, Gare du Nord about a 5 minute walk left from the hotel and the main shopping street starts opposite and goes right down to the centre of town and the Grand Place. Facilities pretty good but the pool is a lot plainer than the pictures make it look. Restaurants within a minute of the front door.

Worst aspect has to be the cost of eating in the restaurant - standard 25 euro charge for breakfast and our meal for five (with only a couple of starters and a round of drinks) came to around £120.

Be wary of upgrades. We were upgraded to club rooms but these only contain king beds - which with kids are then very tight if you have to add fold down beds and none of the usual perks (robes, complimentary breakfast in the lounge etc) came with these. Without the extras we would have been better off in the normal rooms with two queen beds.

Stayed there with my boyfriend for a weekend - got our room upgraded when we arrived which was a bonus! Having read the reviews on Trip Advisor I must admit I was expecting a bit of a run-down hotel, but quite the opposite! It's really clean, smart and the room we had was stunning. The breakfast buffet is fantastic - great choices and the hotel bar was really cool. The only part that I thought could do with some TLC was the pool - the decor is quite outdated and the pool is very small - however the gym is really excellent. Go there - ignore the reviews!

Went to Brussels and Amsterdam with family (wife and 2 children - ages 7 and 10) for Christmas holiday. Spent 5 nights at this hotel, and loved it. First - a rarity in Europe, the rooms hold four people (2 very comfortable and roomy queens) in a large room. Typical of an American not European hotel. The views from our room were great. Especially with some buildings lit up at night for Christmas. Hotel is right at Metro stop so we can get anywhere in city. We had a car and parking was valetted at hotel at a reasonable price, and most convenient is that the hotel is on a main road with easy access out of the city - especially if going to Bruge and Ghent. Nice morning coffee and pastry shop just off the lobby for when you have to run out in the morning. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was reasonablly priced and fantastic (we had the best Belgium Waffles in the country there). Hotel is also across the street from a major mall and the biggest and most popular pedestrian shopping strreet in the city (which was fun at Christmas time). Every night we walked along it to the Grand Place and the walk was delightful. If you want a European style and charm this is not for you, but if you want convenience, American style and size rooms and especially if traveling with kids - what a great choice.

Nothing special and not a five star hotel

I was dissappointed by this one. Room small and noisy and just generally very average for their five stars??? Have stayed in plenty of four star hotels that were much nicer. No extras in the rooms. No bathrobes or slippers, and stingy on the toiletries. Honestly, just go somewhere else. Not worth it.

Loved this hotel

I took a group of 100 people there in early December. Must admit I was a bit dubious as I had already consulted trip advisor about this hotel and alot of the reviews did the hotel no justice. However I can tell you that I cannot speak too highly of the Sheraton. All the staff were very polite and more than helpful (the concierge particularly so). Rooms were wonderful, clean, exceptionally large, my room had even two double beds! Beds/pillows were so comfortable that alot of my group wanted to take them home with them!! Breakfast excellent, what else can I say. I would definitely go there again, no hesitation. In fact, I'm plannning another weekend there this year. All I can say is don't read the reviews and be put off, go, you'll love it

Very good hotel

We stayed at the Brussels Sheraton in late April 2004 for 2 nights. We got a terrific rate. We also got a free room upgrade, the room was the largest room I've ever had in Europe.

The hotel is very close to Brussels Nord and was easy to find. 10-15 minute walk to the central square.

Got a good internet deal

Booked an excellent £150 deal 2 night deal which included Eurostar. Ideally located 5 mins away on the Metro from the Central Station for a day trip to Bruges as Brussels itself is unremarkable. Ignore the comments about "seedy area" in the direct environs it's absolute nonsense. Maybe further north towards the gare du Nord but I didn't venture there.

HUGE room with 2 double beds (for my single occupancy) and a decent deep bath, maybe looking a little dated now but for the price you really couldn't argue. Nice pool on the 30th floor too. 10 mins walk from the central square. Friendly staff at reception - although they didn't seem to realise there was a metro strike when I was leaving to catch the Eurostar back.

We stayed at the Brussels Sheraton in late April for 2 nights thanks to Priceline. We got a terrific rate. We also had a corner king room that was the *largest* room I've ever had in Europe.

The hotel is very close to Brussels Nord and was easy to find. Just across the street starts a large shopping area that extends all the way down to "Grand Place". We spent a lot of time poking around the stores.

Contrary to another reviewers comments the area is not seedy at all. There is a Hilton right across the street as well as a large (By European standards) shopping mall across the other street.

Go to Brussels and enjoy some beer & chocolates for us!

Stayed here as close to Brussels Nord Station which was handy for taking trips out of town (Antwerp and Bruges). Immediate area around hotel is drab and depressing. Brisk 10 minute walk past strip bars and other dubious oulets brings you to the heart of the city. Staff were courteous but not very efficient. Had to point out twice (on arrival and departure) that my rate included tax (a whopping 32%). Rooms larger than average Sheraton. We stayed on Club floor but I guess most rooms similar size. As always, make sure you bring your own bottle of water.
Possibly one of the only minibars I have seen where beer is less than water. One tiny bottle of evian costs 5 euros.

Top Local Tips for Brussels

A little bit of Belguim! Be sure to make sure you sample some of the things Belguim is famous for - beer, chocolate and divine waffles.

Don't stay to long... If you are just sightseeing in Brussels, I don't think you need more than a (full) day. Make sure you book yourself on at least a day trip to Gent and Bruge!

great public transport great getting around, you have the metro, very easy to navigate, trams, they go right out to the suberbs, and trams that go undewrground called the premetro, and the busses, we were there over a major public holideay but didnt have any problem with public transport although on normal days the merto and trams are very very busy as tickets are cheap.
