February in Brussels and it was cold and bleak. The hotel was comfortable and warm. Pleasant and helpful reception, close to the two metro stations and easy walking into the central city. Double room small but clean, easy and comfortable. Great breakfasts and great rates for our 4 night stay. Stay there again - you bet. (It would have got 10, but for the lack of a kettle & cups.)

This hotel is in a good location - close enough to walk to the heart of Brussels......but no air con or fridge/kettle, which would have made the hot July more bearable. Staff were very friendly, but the lock on the room door didn't inspire safety. The breakfast was edible. There is free internet, but the connection was painfully slow - half an hour wait for a page to load up.

Tiny Cramped Room With Transparent Curtains

Horrible room presented as a 3 star property by your website. Not even close. Clean but dated. Very stiff mattress with springs felt through cover. Room about 12 feet wide. Bathroom was clean but cramped. Curtains were completely transparent so sleep was very difficult.

A traveler's experience will be much different than mine in 2003. They were revamping the tram system and sidewalks at the time, so any going back and forth from the hotel involved walking through mud and broken concrete.

Though gracious, the young woman at the front desk was unable to direct me to a location where I could cash Traveler's Checks.

That said, the room was quiet and comfortable and the location was close to a variety of attractions and should be much improved by now.

Well situated to the main shopping areas and only a few minutes from both de Broukere and Rogier Metro stations.
With helpful staff and clean, well appointed rooms, this really is a place to consider if you are looking for good service and cleanliness at best value!

This hotel is centrally located less than 5 mins walk from De Brouckere metro station. It is a very clean, well run hotel with friendly staff. There is a small bar and free internet access (including wireless networking). The only criticism might be that the rooms are small - but compensating for that is the pretty much unlimited bacon you can have for breakfast !!

Top Local Tips for Brussels

Bike hire Use the municipally provided bikes from the automatic stations to get around - cheap, hassle-free and fun.

Take the train Use the Eurostar, you get straight into the city, its cheaper and you get to see lots of the French Countryside and really easy getting in and out.

Watch your step Spending time walking around Brussels you'll soon get used to the slalom walk you need to adopt to avoid the abundance of dog turds which punctuate the pavements around much of the city, in my opinion Paris wrongly has this reputation but Brussels has earned it! No one seems to want to carry a plastic bag with them to clean up after their dog, possibly because they're so focussed on their carbon footprint they've stopped caring about their what other unsavoury footprints they may make. The irony is the last thing you feel like doing after a day spent dodging canine crap, is to buy the world renowned Belgian chocolate!
