Terrible Hotel

This is the worst hotel imaginable. I was booked in another hotel but due 2 an overbooking I ended up in this filthy hotel. The hotel is extremely shabby and dirty. The first thing to welcome you in this hotel is a terrible smell of fried chips which sticks to the clothes. The room is the most standard you can imagine, the telephone is so old it turned yellow! I even had the company of two mice. I could not stay in this Hotel & I informed the owners that I would be leaving. They made me pay for the whole night & they didn't even want to give me a receipt. The Receptionist (who I guess is the owner too) became very aggressive and called me names infront of other guests. He took my luggage and didn't want to return it unless I paid the full night. If you ever come across this hotel, please avoid as much as possible.

The Reyer hotel is clean. The beds are good. Rooms not luxurious, but provided with all you need for a business trip. Breakfast good.
Not A Nice Place To Stay

The Atel Hotel Reyers was the absolutely worst hotel I've seen outside of crime stories on the tele. The lobby is miniscule and was frequently filled with chain-smoking, loud speaking people. The room was not clean, and there were actual holes in the bathroom walls. The lock on the door was a regular push-button type used in many homes for bedroom doors. Certainly not what one would expect in a quality hotel (which this was not). I would recommend people stay somewhere else.

Top Local Tips for Brussels
Money Use credit/debit cards and especially Maestro/Cirrus or Switch. Don't expect to find ATMs (Bancontact) everywhere as Belgians are concentrating on electronic payment methods. Note also that most gas/petrol stations are unmanned and some will refuse your cards. You may have to hunt for one that will take your money!
