We stayed in Leopold about 4 years ago and the room was dark and small so we paid 20 euros per room extra this time. The room was large and quiet even with air. con on. Disappointed no tea making facilities. The breakfast was a scrum at weekends and was not as good as our last visit. We stayed four nights, the third just paying the extra 20 euros. Because of cost of breakfast for free night we went to a local cafe. The hotel is in a quiet part and we walked to Central Station each day to vist Bruges Namur and Ostend. Weekend travel is cheap,the trains clean and efficient. the Belgians are friendly and because of technical problems with flight we arrived in; the dark but did not feel threatened walking the streets. It is not cheap but overall we enjoyed our visit

Leopold Hotel is a hotel that suited me well because it's close to EU-conference center and I like to stay at Leopold place.

Day trip to Amsterdam Done with a big company. long hours travelling. little time in Amsterdam. take the train, go on your own.

Art nouveau architecture theme Brussels is a great city for looking at art nouveau archtitecture. The neighborhoods that we saw while tracking these landmarks down (see hotel desk for walking tour maps) were interesting and varied. Hotel Hannon and the Horta Museum are beautiful; but we missed the Cachie House because it isn't open very often -- first weekend of the month only

Buses are great Get hold of the bus, tram and metro map - bit confusing at first but persevere. Buy a three day travel pass and go for it. Buses go into the central area, trams and metro don't.
