Your hotel is ideally situated, convenient to train station and shopping mall. It has an excellent restaurant with a good variety of food. The staff are courteous and treat the guests with respect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you and hope to return in the very near future.

The hotel is in an unusual art nouveau building with a very modern luxurious interior. Rooms are poky but very well equipped with fantastic bathroom and lots of toys eg auto dimming lights infra red switches. Comfortable, stylish but cramped. 15 min walk from the main square so firly central.

The Hilton Brussels City is great. It is conveniently located near a metro station and there is a lot of good restaurants nearby. The rooms have a nice comtemporary look and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and courteous.

Small small rooms - even as HHonors Gold

I've been a HHonors Gold for a while now (can't quite seem to make it to dimond). I usually get upgraded, but I was very disappointed to find out I wasn't at this hotel. My room was TINY. Bathroom was small, and I just wasn't that impressed that much with the hotel. I cam into the lobby, and had to wait for a staff member...it said "trainee" on her name tag. No upgrade, then you have to go up several steps to get to the elevator. Nobody offered to help me with my bags. Made it to my room, tiny as could be, and no welcome message or anything. I left and did come back, and there was a wecome note on my bed and some cookies, but for me, it was too little too late. I don't think I'll stay here again, it was just not that great.

What a difference a gold card makes...

Indeed, what a difference a gold card makes when staying in the Hilton City in Brussels. Centrally located, only a five minutes walk from the North Station, this is a good pick for anyone wanting to stay in the centre of Brussels.
When I stayed here a few months ago, the rooms were nice, but nice is not really worth much, when the room is the size of a cupboard.
Having come back in July, with my newly obtained HHonors gold card, the stay became different. I was given a room thrice the size, with complimentary bottle of water, bathrobe and slippers. Bed and bath were of the same quality as before, but I could actually walk around now!
Breakfast was included in my room rate and it was good, with a chef preparing your scrambled eggs or omelette. If it's not included in the rate, you probably don't want to spend the 30 euros. This will buy you breakfast for four somewhere else!
Would I stay again, yes, but only if my gold card is still valid!

Central location, bad rooms

We visited this hotel for a long weekend 23 June 2006. The hotel itself is within easy walking distance of North Station and is ideally placed for Grand Place etc. Reception staff were disinterested and not in the slightest bit friendly. No mention was made of when breakfast was or where it was (which is usually standard). There was no offer made to take our luggage to our room which, as it happens, was on the fifth floor at the farthest away point. When entering the room itself (which was classed as a Queen Hilton) the door practically hit the bathroom door the room was so small. Given there were two of us in the room, it was impossible for us both to move around at the same time and one of us had to lie on the bed whilst the other went about their business. It has to be the smallest room I have ever stayed in. If you are travelling on your own then it is probably OK. The bathroom was nice but again tiny. Found the staff to be very ambivalent. Would not stay again and indeed has put me off Hilton hotels generally.

Okay but nothing special

I redeemed HiltonHonors points to stay here in mid-May. Not much to add to other room descriptions, except that our shower had a bizarre setup where moving one's body unfailingly caused the shower hose, and thus the shower head, to spray the bathroom floor. Staff were generally nice. We passed on the over-priced meals in the hotel. We had chosen this hotel for its proximity to the train station, which is very convenient. Bottom line: decent place to stay, but I would not pay the rack rate to stay here.

very acceptable, easy access

Stayed here in May 2006. It is about 300 metres from Gard du Nord, easy walk, in Place Rogier. It is about 10-15 mins walk from the Grand Place. It is well situated next to the Place Rogier subway stop. Front desk staff helpful. Beware that with most places in Brussels/Europe that smoking is allowed inside. Having said that my non-smoking room was non-smoking, and overall at Hilton Brussels City smoking was well contained.

I had a double room (with my wife) but still small. Clean, polished wood floors, nice bathroom. Good wireless internet - but you pay for this. However a friend was on a lower floor next to the Crown Plaza next door and he was able to pick up their free wireless internet. Gym is small but with running machine.
Had friends staying in the Meridien which they said was nice, good gym, and right opposite the main station. Somewhat more expensive however.
Overall the Hilton Brussels City was very acceptable, and very easy to access.

Great breakfast, great service, great value

We had three rooms at the Brussels Hilton City Centre April 7-10. The rooms are a bit small, but very nice and clean with nice bathrooms. The breakfast was the best, with made-to-order omelettes, great fresh fruit, many cheeses and pastries, two kinds of sausage, and at least three different kinds of fish. We paid 99 Euros per room, with breakfast and all taxes, etc. I thought it was a great rate. The staff people were always helpful and pleasant and the location is good. It's an easy walk to/from the North train station (I travel light) and to the fabulous Grande Place. The hop on/hop off tour bus stops across the street near the Sheraton, and the Comic Book Centre is walking distance, too. We had a pretty good Chinese dinner at a restaurant between the train station and the hotel.

An enjoyable Easter weekend

As a Hilton supporter, I was a little concerned to read some of the comments about this hotel, having already booked an Easter weekend break with my wife. From reception through to room service we found the staff friendly and efficient. On arrival in Brussels the airline lost one of our cases. The hotel receptionists kindly offered to keep in touch with the airport/airline on our behalf over the next 24 hours to check progress with finding the case. This saved us the cost and inconvenience of doing so ourselves.

The food, from breakfast to evening meals was of a high standard, although the former was pricey. In common with other Hilton hotels, the wine, especially by the glass was far too expensive. They would sell more if it were more reasonable in all their hotels. The dining room/bar area is really too small for the size of the hotel. I would advise anyone staying there to certainly sample the meals but do book a table in the morning as tables were scarce every night we were there.

Finally, coming from Scotland where smoking is no longer allowed in any public place, the small dining/bar area was frequented by many inconsiderate smokers. The management responded by e-mail to me today saying that they were reviewing their smoking policy in the public areas of the hotel. A problem in many parts of Europe and Belgium in particular, but the majority of non-smokers need to make a stand!

We would certainly return to this friendly hotel if we were going back to Brussels and would recommend it to others, with a caution (as in many hotels) to watch out for add on costs of some things.

Plus for design: cool bar and tastefully modernised rooms. The downside, however, would be the pricing policy. As much as you can get really good rates if you book on the internet the prices in the bar and the restaurant don't match the status of this, essentially 4-star, hotel.

I was positively surprised about the attitude of the bar staff - helpful and friendly. The receptionists were friendly, by and large, as well though you never felt they were prepared to walk that extra mile and some of the female staff seemed to be a bit grumpy and complacent, as if they were doing you a favour.

In sum: I'd recommend a stay if you're on business (location is excellent) and functionality is your key consideration.

Who says Brussels is dull?

Stayed at the Hilton Brussels for a weekend back in May 2005. The hotel is primarily designed for business travellers, but gave us a very friendly welcome for our stay. The hotel feels fresh, new and modern in its decor. The breakfasts are fantastic and well labelled (flags are used to highlight healthy and bad boy breakfast options). The bar is also fantastic - friendly bar man and lots of drinks choices.

The hotel is very conveniently located for the city centre. Combining it's excellent facilities with the friendly service, this should be a destination hotel for visitors to Brussels.

Great Hotel

Lovely hotel. The staff are super friendly. The standard rooms are small but since I have Diamond Hilton Status I normally get the upgraded rooms which are lovely. The gym is small, the food is good and the rooms are clean. I have stayed in the other Hilton in Brussels and don't think its half as nice. I have also stayed in the Crowne Plaza's, Holiday Inn, Hotel Manos and Hotel Stephanie. Again this Hilton beats the lot.

Top Local Tips for Brussels

Grand Place at dusk It's beautiful and worth hanging around to watch the way the setting sun reflects off of the different buildings.

Resturant Scams Be carefull when dining out in the lanes around the Grand Place for example if you are after the popular fruits de mer all the resturants when you aproach them will try and tempt you in and will say along the lines of what are you intrested in and then will say ok 50 euros but this is only for one person! So will sit you down give you the menu and then realise that they expect you to pay 90-110 euros for 2 people! The best thing to do is make a deal with them before you go in as to the price and what is included e.g they will try and chuck lobster in as it is the most expensive meat or charge you extra 4 euros for steak sauce.
