Staff members fighted in Sheraton!?!

I was taking my breakfast and all of a sudden two staff members started pushing and hitting each other right in front of my eyes. In the beginning I thought they were joking but it appeared to be serious. It turned into a big fight. It was quite shocking.

At night, I experienced an electric shortage at my floor but they fixed it almost in an hour.

All those happened in 1 day. That's why I am a bit negative about this hotel.

On the other hand, the room was really comfortable. The neighbourhood is silent and it is close to the tram.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights last year. I got a really good deal through a website for a trip with eurostar. We came for the Christmas Markets. When we first arrived we had to wait a while to be seen at reception as there was a couple complaining that they didnt have a couble bed, this worried us but our room proved to be great, spacious and clean. The easy boy chair proved popular with the boyfriend!

There is a spa area on the top floor of the hotel which is well worth a visit. Lovely big jacuzzi and we were the only people in there!

The breakfast was good, but staff weren't very helpfull, we had breakfast included and yet they brought over a bill for us to pay. It was sorted but annoying!

The power went out when we were staying there and we were not told what was happening or given any candles, but it was sorted after about half an hour.

Our room was near the hotel bar and restaurant and they had christmans parties going on every night the music was quite loud. I would reccomend asking for a quiet room.

The trams are a really easy way to get around the city and there are tram stops nearby, there are also some bars and restaurants, the Irish bar is good.

Overall it was a lovely hotel but the staff could have been better!

Great Hotel at a great price

My partner and I spent three nights in the Four Points Sheraton recently. Our room was sparklingly clean and very comfortable. It is not in the most central location but you can walk into the centre within 20mins and there is a tram outside that runs regularly and is very cheap. The staff were very helpful and on arrival at 10:00am made sure that we were able to check straight into a room so that we could freshen up.

We got a great deal using the Eurostar website - and are already thinking about planning a trip to Paris using this.

Nice hotel in average location

This was a nice hotel in a nice area but quite a distance from the tourist areas of Brussels. Whilst there were trams nearby, often there was quite a wait. Some nice restaurants in the local area though - highly recommend 'Lucas' across the main road.

The rooms were smallish but clean and well-presented. We had a few electrical problems in our room but this was fixed quite quickly. Lovely relaxation facilities - especially after a day of walking around.

Staff were very helpful and the bar/restaurant is very nice.

Neat small hotel

Neat small hotel in side street of brussels, distance fron train or metro. Clean and efficiently. |Well appointed rooms queen bed TV, internet, recliner chair. Good small sauna/jaccuzzi. Only had breakfast which was fine but overpriced - use local cafe. Staff a little off friendly but this is Belgium.

Pleasantly Suprised

We were pleasantly suprised by this hotel.
The lobby is posher than the rooms but isnt that true of everywhere. For us the very big and comfortable bed and discovery of the jacuzzi on the top floor made for a lovely end to our days sightseeing. The bedroom had a nice, large bathroom with a strong hot shower. The TV had a couple of English channels and was easy to watch from the lazyboy armchair! We didnt try the restaraunt as it looked a little expensive but the cow theme did make it look intriguing!
The only problem we found is that the hotel is not very well located if you want to go out for the evening in the centre of brussels and dont want to spend time trying to get taxis. During the day there are no problems as the trips on the tubes and trams are very easy. The tram you need to know about is the one opposite the Irish bar...number 92 or 93 takes you straight up the avenue to the Metro.
For the evening dont be afraid to try local restaraunts and bars near the top of the avenue. We had two pleasant meals in that area with a 10 minutes stroll back down the avenue and a drink in the Irish bar right near the hotel.
In the end I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you plan to be going out in central brussels every night but for everything else it is fine.

A big step down for Sheraton

I am a fan of Sheraton but this experience was disappointing. It was not in a good location. The room was very dark. The bathroom was not the clean.

Overall I would not recommend it unless you get a great price.

Nice enough hotel, but not the best I ever stayed in.

We only got back from this hotel yesterday. We enjoyed our stay ok, but have stayed in better hotels. The hotel is comfortable, clean quiet and the staff are friendly. Breakfast I think is a rip off. 18:50 euros. I don't mind paying this, (and went to the hotel intending to have breakfast every morning). But, the breakfast was nothing special. So, we only had breakfast on the first morning, the other 4 mornings, we ate out. There are several good breakfast places in the locality. Illy directly out on the a Avenue Louise, then, further down the Avenue Louise on the right hand side is Le Pain Quotidien ( [-] ). Its about 2 and a half blocks down, around 10 minutes walk. Lovely little place, locals use it. Serves freshly squeezed orange, yoghurts, coffee, and croissants, all of which were declicous. Around 10 euros for two. Across the road further down, where there is the first major road intersection, is Exki. This is also good value, but my choice would be Le pain Quotidien. Its very good. The hotel, cost us 75 euros per night, which was a special internet deal. Don't bother with taxis, or special cars to the airport, the transport system in Brussels is excellent. We walked to Louise Place, about 15 mins. Caught the metro (underground) everywhere. It's dead easy, there are only 3 lines. If you go 3 stops to the Gare du Midi Zuid, you can catch a train directly to the airport, althought I do not know how much it cost. The metro, is 1 euro if you buy your ticket from the hotel, 1:50 if you buy it from the driver. If you want, you can catch a number 93 tram outside the Irish bar to Louise Place, using the same ticket. Remember to punch the ticket in the machine on the tram, and going into the metro. We caught trains to Brugges and Leuvan, both very nice towns. Enjoy.

Good location, friendly staff

I didn't think this hotel was as great as others previously commented. Our bathroom had a very strong smell that never went away. The shower was one of those handheld showers so you had to adjust it if to get the right height to take a shower. The windows were not double paned so if you have room that faces the street, you can hear all of the street noise. They did replace the all of the mattresses, which was a good thing, because the old ones were not that comfy.

The hotel was a short walk from a tram station which took you right into town and that was very convenient.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Room service was prompt and the food was pretty good. The breakfast was very expensive -- 18.50 Euros per person so we got something to eat at a coffee shop just around the corner from the hotel. There is also a small grocery store right across the street from the hotel that has just about anything you might want.

Also, I suggest taking advantage of the private car service to the airport. It's 40 Euros, which was comparable to the taxi fare we paid coming from the airport to the hotel. Our driver arrived early and was very pleasant, and we got to ride in a really nice Mercedes Benz sedan.

Hated it. Never stay here.

I have never stayed in a worse hotel in my life. It’s surprising to find that a hotel this bad could be classified a four star hotel. Further, the hotel tarnishes Starwood’s name and reputation. I am used to Starwood hotels being the best in the world, with service to match, which the Four Points in Brussels is anything but.

The rooms are full of insects (I even have photographs of the roaches in the bathroom). The rooms feel like they haven’t been vacuumed ever. The bed had a layer of dust on it causing my wife and I sleepless nights brought on by incessant sneezing.

When I requested a late checkout until 4 pm as I am entitled to as a SPG Gold member, I was told I couldn’t have it. I was well within my rights and entitled to the late checkout. However the staff refused and threatened to charge me for another night if I stayed beyond the 12 pm checkout time. When I complained to the manager about this, he shook his head and said he was surprised to hear the complaint. And that was it. He walked away!

To add further to this insult, no staff at the hotel offered to help my wife with the bags when she was checking in or out. There were 4 people at the front desk when she checked in, yet no one had the courtesy to help a woman with 2 bags.

We moved hotels and went to the Sheraton in Place Rogier instead. That was much better and more like a Starwood property!

Top Local Tips for Brussels

Don't go with the crowds Eat in the local vicinity - food is much better than in the centre and also much cheaper. Be adventurous!

10-trip ticket Buy a 10-trip ticket at any Metro station - it's good on the metro, tram and bus networks. You will pay less per trip (11 euros for 10 trips) and won't have to be fishing for coins.

La Main Dans La Poele La Main Dans la Poele: Rue Lesbroussart 122, 1050 Bruxelles, Tel: 02/ 648 90 32 this was an a amazing find in the Louise area very close to the 4 points sheraton. Meals are all "home cooked Italian" absolutely delicious - served by a charming Italian husband (chef) and wife (waitress) team - brought to your table in the pan it is cooked in. Everything we ate was fabulous.
