Luxurious surface…. but the content…

As a business traveller I expect a hotel to have internet access. Conrad Brussels advertise that they have. I went there and there was no access and after calling the reception nothing happened. After my second call someone came who had nothing to do neither with the connection nor with the computer he knew nothing about it. The internet was out of order on the tv as well. Not to mention the business area next to the reception where there was access to the internet but the area was being refurbished during my stay and the smell of the paint was extremely disturbing… There was an Asian congress at the hotel that time. At 5 in the morning my phone in the room was ringing and someone spoke an asian language to me. He did not understand English. It happened at 6 in the morning as well. As this is not the fault of the hotel there is no problem with it. The problem is that I told the receptionist to switch off my phone for the next day, I do not want to be woken up at 5 by other guests. Believe it or not the same story happened next day. I was woken up again by the phone... At Conrad Brussels every guest receives a small bottle of lukewarm Evian at the evening when the beds are made up. But I was shocked when the maid knocked on the door at 10 in the evening to make up the bed… Then she only gave me the Evian as I was in my bed. It seems a bit late for making up the bed. The hotel has a nice wellness area. Some parts are leaking but all in all it is nice. The hotel advertises itself to have a nice and big swimming pool. It is nice and big but it is hard to swim in an empty swimming pool. The whole swimming pool was empty, employees were to fill it and said it takes about 2-3 hours but it was not working on the other day as well. As a member of the Leading Hotels of the World guests expect to have a perfect and maintained hotel. In the room the wall-to-wall carpet was fringing.
