Top Local Tips for Bruges
Shopping - whats open and when? We found that the shops shut on SUNDAY in Brugge, but, simply go to the railway station and hop on a train to Ostende (20 mins away). There you will find the shops open until 6pm and the beach front is nice when the sun is out. Most of the museums shut on a MONDAY in Brugge but again you can get a train to Gent (20 mins away) or Antwerp (1.5 hours away). Antwerp has loads of shops as you step out of the Centraal station. Most of the shops open from 10am to noon and then from 2pm to 6pm.
If you like Gourmet Food Go to Kardinaalshof restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
Horse drawn carriage ride / Brewery Tour Carriage: Twee, I know, but a really good way of understanding what there is to see before setting out on foot. Brewery: very funny tour guides, enjoyed by all on it.

Breakfast is a buffet - continental, bread, bread pudding, cold meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, toast.....wonderful!
