Top Local Tips for Bruges

Try traditional Flemish cooking at reasonable prices The book from Camra entitled "Around Bruges in 80 beers" details some interesting places and gives information about food served as well. Our favourites were the Kaffe de Grand Passage (great atmosphere, Waterzooi and Witloof), the Nieuw Museum (meat grilled over the fire in the bar, and Dame Blanche with the hot chocolate served in a gravy boat!), Terrasje (small and good snacks), Verloren Hoek (good eels!). In all of them the food was served with a smile. Moral: walk at least ten minutes away from Markt.

Great Restaurants Don't eat at the main square restaurants. Their prices are about 25% more than the 'off centre' ones.

From railway station by bus Any bus to Centrum will bring you close, but if you catch a no 4, 14 or 84, it will bring you right to the bridge by the hotel, the other side of the canal.
