As a centrally located cheap hotel to stay in Brugge I think it would be hard to beat the Hotel Europ. The room was clean and tidy and although just a standard double the temporary third bed for my 12 year old son was not too obtrusive. The buffet breakfast was just what you need to set you up for the day with a good variety of food to cater for all tastes. The staff were helpful and friendly. Location is to the north of the Markt Square - between 5-10 mins walking. We found this an excellent base to explore the wonderful city of Brugge and would highly recommend this hotel.

Driving in Brugge Driving around Brugge Central is a maze of one-way streets. A good map or a sat-nav is definitelt recommended.

Sightseeing We were only there for 2 days. We bought a very cheap sightseeing book with a map in. The map outlined 2 walks. On the first day we did the 'must do' one, which was really good. On the second day we did the other one, which was even better. We must have walked miles and it was absolutely brilliant. The Grote Market seems to be the centre of all activity. There were concerts on both nights we were there. Great place. Great atmo. Would recommend it to anyone for a weekend, but wouldn't have wanted to be there for longer than that. Needless to say, the local beer is second to none!
