Exceptionally well run hotel in the centre of the Old Town. Spotlessly clean. Great people. Superb beer. (Beware of the spiral staircase after imbibing).

Top Local Tips for Bruges

A Brugge October-2007 Brugge is near the coast so partly cloudy in October is a way of life. We are from the Olympic peninsula in Washington and knew what to expect. I was quite surprised at how warm the overcast days were. We had rain (intermittent) on one day but each day was in the high 50's Fahrenheit. Food is a travel necessity and I can recommend three places in Brugge. For dinner, try de Vlaamschepot-off a main shopping street-authentic Flemish dishes including an abundant carbonnades flammande. My wife had oxtail soup and raved about it. www.devlaamschepot.be. For lunch, try Het Dagelijske Brood (The Daily Bread), Philipsatockstraat 21- a side street off the Markt. This restaurant is part of a chain-large communal table and two small tables. Most expensive item ar the monster salads at 11-13 euros with large open face sandwiches 6-9 euros and the daily fresh vegetable soup at 4 euros. Juliette's cookiie Corner, Wollestraat 26 serves fresh brew tea and homemade cookies to the weary.

Parking Use the underground car parks, which are very fairly priced (€8.70 for 24 hours) & aren't far away from the centre & main attractions.
