Top Local Tips for Vienna

Concerts You will see costumed folks selling tickets to several Mozart-Strauss concerts around town. We were tempted but dissuaded by the high cost (starting at 39 Euros), and ended up making the best choice, seeing philharmonic orchestra musicians playing at the large concert hall several blocks fromthe state opera house. Musicians were not in costume but these were world class musicians in a historic setting, and we paid less than for the tourist concerts (the young man who conducted a tour through the state opera house was diplomatic but not enthusiastic about those costumed shows).

Don't pay for public transportation No one pays (with an exception of some obvious tourists) for public transportation. Just walk in the metro or tram. No one will care!

apartment for families Ithink families in vienna should cosdider renting an apartment than staying in hotels they will save money and have a much more relaxing stay. I would highly reccomend Alexander and heidi walzhofer appartments in josefstad You can find them in vienna apartment.at
