Historical Traveller Reviews of Best Western Premier Hotel Kaiserhof
Simply flawless
from JackSkoThe hotel is located on a very quit side street just outside of the ring. To be sure, we asked for and received a room which was not on the street side. The room was on 2nd floor, which made it a little dark at times.
Other than that I only have praise for this hotel:
- excellent breakfast
- clean rooms
- clean bathrooms
- excellent service with a smile
I am a frequent business traveller and this one stands head and shoulders above 90% where I (have to) stay.
The Kaiserhof - simply outstanding
from Sasi60All the positve comments and reviews are right - the Kaiserhof is highly commendable!
Of course, there is the famous Sacher Hotel or similar 5*s but for a Traveler like me this is of on oustanding standard in its class. We loved it!
We stayed in the Kaiserhof for more then a week, arrived late at night and found everything we had asked for: non smoking room, twin bedded, quiet.
It was very clean and that was maintained throughout the time there. Extremelykind and friendly and helpful staff!
Wait until you see the breakfast buffet. Heaving been at the Gleneagles, Scotland - this Hotel can easily compete with that buffet.
Commendation: the hotel is situated most conveniently at the Karlsplatz - 2 minutes away from all public transport. Get a 3-day (72 hours) transport ticket for all trams, busses and S´-Bahns1 All the important sightseeing places are more or less in walking distantance anyway.
If you ar in Vienna in February don't miss the fantastice skating through the woods infront of the Rathaus or on th open air rink of the WIener Eislaufverein.
All this near the hotel! We loved the Kaiserhof and we'll most certainly return.
Great Stay at the kaiserhof!
from A TripAdvisor MemberThere is very little i could fault with this hotel. The price was suberb, €425 for 4 nites, booked with 1800 hotels. The location was fine, just 5 minutes from the Karlsplatz underground, and with a tram only 50 yards away and no more than 10-15 minute walk to the main city centre. The staff were helpful, not in your face friendly, but helpful with any requests, and they suggested some superb local restaurants.
The breakfast buffet was really excellent, with loads of choice, really well presented and most importantly Tasty food!. The room was medium sized, but very clean, all you would need for a city break. There is a sauna and sanarium in the hotel which is lovely; it costs €10 for your entire visit, with drinks included. (so make sure and stock up!!) Note: there is no restaurant as such in the hotel, more like snack-food and coffee, but hey, you aint going to Vienna to dine in your hotel!!, so it wasnt a problem at all.
My only criticism was that there was noisy redecorating work being carried out right next to our room at 8am in the morning on 2 of the mornings. This was rather annoying, but did stop when we asked.
All in all i would thoroughly recommend the Kaiserhof in Vienna, as a traditional and authentic Austrian hotel.
V. pleasant experience
from kathoulaWonderful night
from rionAfter doing some ringing around we managed to get a suite at the Kaiserhof.
The reception is very nice and well presented. Our room was not quite ready so we had some light lunch in the bar area.
We had a very good light lunch here, food was very reasonably priced.
Suite was huge, very clean, well presented. Has a desk, couch, and large Plasma TV which was connected to the same size screen that was in the bedroom.
The bathroom was also huge, included a multiheaded shower, and a spa.
The bedroom was also very well appointed with the most comfortable bed we had come across
.
Breakfast was a huge buffet affair, including champagne, and a huge selection of juices, cold meats, cereals and breads.
The hotel also has a small gym and a sauna. The sauna was particulary good.
Loved the Kaiserhof

from ArthurMFWe got here from the airport by train with no problem. This was one of the only holidays we managed without a car, since the hotel is near a junction for every rail, bus and trolley line you might need. Yet it is on an incredibly quiet side street, which is what I need most in a city hotel.
The breakfasts were magnificent. Even had free sparkling wine.
The rooms were very clean and very well kept. The staff was incredibly helpful and managed to get us the last tickets for the very best performance of Beethoven's 9th I have ever seen.
This is not a cheap hotel, but worth every penny. We would definitely stay here again.
Great value, I would heartily recommend this hotel
from lemack-jExcellent hotel, loved it!
from Expat_SandTravellerThe hotel is simply excellent. Spacious (for a European city standards) and clean rooms. Cheap broadband access (3 Euro per 24hrs).
The staff is wonderfull and attentive. Excellent location 10-15 min walking from the center of Vienna, you may also catch a tram to go there.
The buffet breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice.
Definitevely will stay there again.
Top Local Tips for Vienna
Getting around Buy the 72 hour pass from the hotel, even for 48 hours only as it gives you discounts in most museums and galleries as well as easy access to the great public transport network of the city
Get to Vienna from the airport easily! When you arrive at Schwechat Vienna airport, look for green and white signs that say CAT. CAT is the fast paced train that leaves from the airport and is non-stop to Vienna (center city). It's a direct non-stop 15 minute trip and it's more economic than the cab. Once you arrive in Vienna, you take the S-Bahn or the U-bahn to your hotel destination. Very easy. My only tip is that you research your subway lines to get to your hotel before you go.
8 day card Do not pay through the nose for a Vienna card valid for 3 consecutive days only. The discounts are not much If you stay more than 3 days get an 8 day card 27€ will offer 8 days unlimited travel in city bus tram u bahn. Does not need to be consecutive days. Can be used 1 person 8 days. 2 people 4 days. or 4 people 2 days. Or even 8 people 1day.
