Near old historic downtown

Hotel was nice. About a 10 minute scenic walk to the old historic downtown. Lots of towels and comfortable beds. We stayed in a family suite. Kids liked their pull-out couch. Breakfast was great for a European buffet. Bacon, sausage, eggs. Those things are sometimes hard to find in Europe. We were able to park our car at the hotel, and walked around for 4 days with 2 children, no problem.

up the untersberg great half day out - take bus no. 25 to untersberg cable car station - costs 3,60 return and then 16 euros to get the cable car to the top (return). go on as clear a day as you can. views are breathtaking but so is the temperatre and wind so wrap up. best part of our trip.

public buses The buses are available directly in front of the airport to the heart of the city. They are also frequent and cheap. However, we arrived to get on the bus and discovered you have to purchase a ticket prior, not on the bus. We couldnt see anywhere to purchase a ticket and it was getting late, so we opted for a taxi nearby (the price to the city is 12euros). It is best to agree a price prior to travelling. HAPPY HOLIDAY.
