Top Local Tips for Obergurgl

Alpenland vs Edelweiss The Alpenland is a lovely hotel, family run, personal and friendly with nice rooms. However, it is a five minute walk down (and ten minute walk back) from the centre of the village (very tiring). The Edelweiss, is at the heart of everything in Obergurgl, and we spent most of our daytime there. It has a great outdoor and bar/resturant at the bottom of the ski slopes and is the meeting point for the whole village. It has the ski hire shop underneath it and to walk to the chair lifts takes about 30 seconds! It also has a great spa. The main negative is that it is a much bigger hotel than the Alpenland and so is not so personal
