Top Local Tips for Kaprun
Great skiing! Becasue of the high altitude snow is more or less a cert late in the season )there's lots more snow forcast for this week) but it can be cloudy and windy on the mountain so be prepared.
Little advise for Skiiers/Boarders The ski bus is really regular so get out early and make the most of it. Avoid Maiskogel on the first couple of days if more experienced as more beginner based the start of the week, and the lift from the bottom gets massively busy. Ttowards the end it can be nice and quiet. Try to avoid Kitzenhorn on weekends - and Austrian Half term - queues for the lift can be a nightmare! Most people seem to hit Maiskogel first then the Glacier, so maybe head to the glacier on your first day - or straight into Zell if peak times.Try to time it with Carnival day - normally 50 days before Easter (it was around the 5-6th Feb this year) as everyone dresses up and they have a massive party in the Zell Town Centre (the Square) and most hotels encourage dressing up - AS ANYTHING!!!!
