We stayed at the Eberl Hotel in 2005 and 2008. The Hotel is in an excellent location for the Ski Lifts. Each stay was very pleasant with good food and excellent service from friendly staff. It is worth mentioning that during both stays we did not sleep well. The first stay we had a door banging adjacent to our room early in the morning from about 6.30am and again at night until midnight. During the second stay we were put in room 343 and every morning from approx 6.45 - 7.30 am and each night from approx 9.45 - 10.30pm there was a persistent noise identical to a double decker bus engine running the other side of our bedroom wall. This was not a welcome noise especially on the last night as we had to be up at 3.30am for an early flight. The shower in the bathroom was also inadequate. The maid service was very efficient with the room being cleaned early in the morning and clean towels supplied every day. We would stay there again but just hope that next time we get a quieter room. I also agree with the other review that the bar was smokey. We all certainly noticed the difference to the smoke-free hotels and restaurants we now have in the UK.

A mixed stay. The rooms were small and the shower distinctly inadequate. At one point I had dark brown water coming out of the shower and sink taps. I advise against visiting the spa before dinner if you wish to maintain your appetite.
The bar is smokey and extremely expensive. £4,40 for 50cl of coke.
The food was mixed, some of it was reasonably nice whilst some was inedible. The menu is not provided with an English translation, which makes choosing your food difficult.
Tiny rooms but good food and service

We stayed as a party of 6 people at the Eberl March 2008 for a skiing holiday. We had 3 of the annexe rooms, 110, 111, 112. The first room being marginally larger than the others whereby you couldn't actually fit your luggage in the room and close the door behind you without re-arranging the furniture - i.e. stacking chairs and table on top of eachother etc. The sink is in the bedroom and the shower room with toilet tiny. No hook to even hang your dressing gown in there and the water temperature was constantly changing from freezing cold to boiling hot which was really quite uncomfortable. The rooms did have balconies but in some cases shared with the next door room. The beds were too short to sleep comfortably if you were over about 5"6 tall.

Breakfast was an expensive buffet, hot and cold meat, cheese, breads, cakes, cereal, fruit, yogurt etc so always something nice to eat. Impecible waiter service. The 4 course evening meal was waiter service, with the main course selected each day at breakfast from a menu of 3 options. Each night there was soup, a starter, main course and salad buffet, desert and cheese buffet. The food was always excellent at supper times.

The staff were very friendly but the bar was too smokey to choose to sit in. There is a ski room with boot heaters and the expansive wellness centre in the basement but no swimwear is allowed!

The hotel is located right in the centre of Finkenberg where the lift queues are short, ski bus stop right opposite or short uphill wallk to the gondola. There are 2 bars but not always mahy patrons in these. There is 1 expensive skiwear shop and 1 spar shop up from the gondola but this is all. Expect a quiet village location but the hotel is on the main road so some noise from this.

Top Local Tips for Finkenberg

White Lounge Igloo Party If you get the chance you should absolutely go to the White Lounge Igloo party at the top of the Ahorn 150man cable car. It's a party with DJ and bar inside an igloo with various rooms all made of ice with ice carvings. Outside there's burning torches for you to light your way on the snow and a bonfire with deckchairs to keep warm around. There's also another bar outside serving delicious hot gluwein.

This resort is quiet Take some games with you or you will be watching German tv all night (if you don't like sitting in smokey bars, that is)

Ski Buses Lift pass advertises these as free - ONLY free if you have skiis with you!!! Most of the lifts in the area were closed due to wind on one of our days - we decided to go into Mayrhofen and get the 'free' bus - ended up having to pay a fiver for two people to make a 5 minute journey - needles to say we wlaked back to Finkenberg!!!
