We stayed at Bella Vista for 3 nights over Semana Santa. We arrived without reservations the first night and after traveling for so long just wanted a bed to sleep in. The beds were fine and 2 of the 4 pillows were okay- 2 were like rock but we have 2 kids who didnt care if they had pillows or not. The night receptionist was about as unhelpful as they come. She just really didn't know enough about anything to give direction to travelers. The day one - can't remember her name - was informative. Both were friendly. They are in the process or room renovations in the section we were in. The a/c in our room couldn't be regulated but the one the other room was new and worked fine. The rooms were okay about what you would expect for $45 a night with hot water and a/c. The maid didn't show up, not even to empty the garbage. I just called and had towels sent up when we got back at night. i was going to ask the last night but then thought why bother, we are leaving in the am. There is wireless internet in the lobby area and little bar next door. We checked in at 9:30pm and left about 9 in the morning and returned about 10pm so didn't spend anytime except to sleep in the hotel so it suited our family of 4 and my mom fine. You do pay what you get for and this hotel was fine for the money. If you wanted a little more upscale the one next door is about $20 more.

Me and my fiance ended up stuck at Hotel Bella Vista because it was the beginning of a long weekend in Panama and there were absolutely no vacancies at any of the cheaper hotels anywhere. The only good thing about it was Karen, at reception. We called and convinced her to hold the last empty room for us for the 20 minutes it would take to get there. The room was barren and tiny, dirty walls, no cleaning service showed up for the two days we were there, the rooms were so humid the walls were literally sweating, a funky smell in the washroom, and there is this bizarre makeshift elevator that seems like something right out of a horror movie. Dont go there. We stayed for two miserable days until we could secure a room elsewhere.
