I dont know what everyone is talking about. Me & my husband are 25 were from NYC and we thought the hotel was beautitful! I dont know what mold or old design everyone is talking about?! we had a great time at the water park and the small zoo they had on the premisce and the game room downstairs. The restaurant was delish and real cheap. The rooms were really big. And the staff was great to us, one of them actually hooked us up driving us to the nightlife scene and picking us up, and taking us to the panama canal & tour of the old city. (ask for chico or roberto) Even though we speak spanish, a lot of them spoke english. We've travel through most of the caribbean and we enjoyed panama & the avalon and would go back. i cant upload pictures, so email me if you would like to see. ML2931@aol.com

There is a mold odor as you get inside the hotel and the staff was not helpful when I voiced my concern. Waitresses were only nice only when they realized that you will tip.

Top Local Tips for Panama City

Traffic is HORRIBLE! I tried to drive down town once, and I was so frustated and lost I never tried again! There are almost no traffic lights and people drive crazy. I drive in traffic every day in Seattle WA, which is in the top 10 worst traffic in the USA, but this panama traffic chewed me up and spit me out. Do NOT drive down town!

Getting to and from the airport If you are renting a car, ask them to provide you with the directions using the toll roads from the airport. It's about $2.50 in tolls, but well worth it. It's a straighter shot with less chance of getting lost and much faster. We didn't find this route until we were returning to the airport.

Far from downtown Hotel is very far from downtown ($20 cab ride each way)
