Elegance at afforable price

Friends had told us about this town inside a crater, and how the city people when there to relax on weekends, so when traveling to Panama we decided to check it out. Being we were just checking out different cities in Pamana we didn't have reservations. Upon driving into town we saw The Anton Valley Hotel. It was absolutely beautiful. A covered porch with stone pillars, handcrafted furniture on the porch and beautliful flowers surrounding the front. If it was as nice inside as it was outside, this is where we had to stay. Once inside we weren't surprised at all, it was just as beautiful. Rodolfo,the manager, welcomed us with a warm smile and handshake. When I asked to see a couple of rooms before we decided to stay there he was eager to please us. (I'm funny like that) Each room had subtle touches of elegance and distinction. Very impressive for a small hotel. Going back to the lobby Les, one of the owners, poked his head out of the kitchen. We talked about a half an hour about where to go and what to see. He was so friendly, it was like we had known him all our lives. We knew instantly that this would be our home for the next few days. Finally we got checked in, and again we were surprised. With robes in the rooms, mini refrigerators, flowers, beautifully decorated, super friendly staff, the price was so reasonable. Once settled, we sat on the porch with a couple of other visitors and watched as tourist and locals walked around. Later that evening we hung out at the beautiful bohio and visited some more. Les had come out to the bohio and here we were again, feeling like old friends. After a great nights sleep we had a wonderful breakkfast there. Belgian waffles with walnuts and cinnamon for less than $3.00. And linen napkins, simply unbeliveable. The extra touches this hotel had set it apart from all the others we had stayed at. The next couple of days we checked out the Sunday market, had hand dipped ice cream, cookies from the local bakery and pizza. All within walking distance from the hotel. I would highly recommend the Anton Valley Hotel to anyone visiting the area. The staff was great, the hotel was great,the price was great and the location great. There were a couple of other extra surprises, but I left them out of this so you could enjoy them.
