My advice to everyone is simple: don't plan your stay here. It's a shame that this place still exists. We booked three nights in advance, just to be sure of an accommodation. In the e-mail correspondence, they mentioned that they would charge my credit card for 3% as a down payment. It seems fair. Then we came there, someone showed us our cabana. After a quick shower, we went to the reception to ask some questions about tours and diner. No one there. The restaurant, which was mentioned on the website, was closed. So here we were, on a lonely place. It looks nice on the pictures, but in fact it’s on a deserted spot, where there is nothing to do. We went to the main island Colon, to arrange a nice tour. So the next morning we woke up at 8:15 to have breakfast (which was included by the way). The restaurant was still closed (huh??). We went to the reception and someone was sleeping in front of the door. So we woke him and asked about the breakfast. He said the breakfast was at 8:00 o'clock and now it was 8:30. Can you believe that. We were the only guest at the place and we get this comment. Unbelievable. We advised us to walk to the bus stop and take the bus to the village and have some breakfast over there. The nerve. This was clearly not acceptable. Only after we get really mad at him, he called someone and that person took a boat to Bocas to get the key of the restaurant. Finally we had breakfast (not really fantastic, but it was something). We were merely on time for our tour. Thanks to the patience of the guy who arranged the tour, because they were waiting for us for some time. When we came back in the afternoon, we took our bags and left the place as soon as possible. After the breakfast we said that we would leave the place in the afternoon. We could led our bags stay in the room and there would be someone in the afternoon, when we came back. But as you can guess, no one there. So we left some cash money for that one night (USD 50) under the door of the office and a note in which we described our disappointment. We could have left without leaving anything at all, but that’s not how I was raised. When we came home from our three weeks’ vacation, it seems that the Buccaneer had charged my credit card for the whole amount (3 days). So in total we have paid for 4 days and only stayed one. We tried to get our money back through our bank. But then it seems that they have some very strange conditions on their website about paying everything in advance. There is no hotel, hostel of other place in all of Panama, which uses that conditions. We had a wonderful vacation in Panama and will never forget all the beautiful things we have seen and experienced. But this was a very dark spot in the vacation.

The location/view is great. Coconut trees, cristal clear water and a magnificent sunrise. Just a few minutes from Isla Colon on the east side of Careneros Island. Beautiful white sand beach right outside your door. Quiet and peaceful. The rooms are small wooden cabins built on stilts with thatch roofs. The air conditioner keeps the room cool but not cold, although more is not needed given the breeze that comes in from the ocean. The staff is helpfull and friendly. Overall a great place to relax just minutes away by boat from the restaurants and shops of Bocas town.
