Get a guide to show you around the ruins since there is a lot to learn. Visit the Coffee Plantation. The guide is excellent and the plantation is very well set up and run in an environmentally aware manner. The bird sanctuary is another wonderful place to visit.

Copan, Honduras Take plenty of cash and/or an ATM card as credit cards are NOT widely accepted in Copan. Everyone takes U.S. Dollars and Honduran Limpiras. The Canopy Tour is awesome and offers great views of Copan. The Macaw Bird Sanctuary is a delightful surprise and well worth the money. Ask for a guide, it's included in the entry fee. If you go to the Copan Ruinas, do not get a guide. They are overpriced and not worth the money. Do not pay the extra $15.00 to tour the tunnels at Copan Ruinas, as it is definitely not worth the money. Getting around Copan by foot or moto taxi is very easy.
