Shuttle Bus We booked a shuttle from Antigua to Chichicastenango (for market day) and then on to Panajachel. Our bags were to be secure in a locked van. We had a camera, cellphone, and swiss army knife stolen (about $700 CDN). We discovered this once we were in Panajachel. We booked the shuttle through Sin Fronteras (travel agent on 5a. North) and the shuttle was run by I.R.C. The agent was very apologetic and arranged for IRC to meet us (upon IRC's request), but no one showed up (2X). The reason we paid the extra money ($50 USD for two - transport and security) was to have our bags in a secure spot. Make sure the van is locked at all times (we stopped for breakfast and it was not locked), lock your bags, and check your bags prior to moving to the next town.

Visit during the dry season We were forewarned about mosquitos but didn't encounter any as it was the dry season.
