manuel antonio beach skip out on the public beach and splurge ($7) on the private national park. it's cleaner and less crowded and you might even be lucky enough to fall victim to cheeky cappuchin monkey who like to steal picnic-ers' goodies.

Monkeys at the rest rooms, lots of BUGS Looking for wildlife? Go to the area near the restrooms, all the animals are there, especially the monkeys! They beg for food there. Bring cold drinks, towels, and BUG SPRAY!! lots of mosquitoes .. Make sure you have Costa Rican currency to get into Park, make sure you go when it's open. Check ahead of time. There are lines, so be prepared to wait, and wear a hat and take sunscreen and BUG SPRAY!! It's hilly, take comfy shoes.. food is great and cheap. there are many nice and affordable hotels. ENJOY!

Manual Antonio Park We opted to hire a guide while in the park and it was the best thing we did-we'd done it at the Arenal hanging bridges as well. He was able to spot so many things we would have otherwise missed. Ask for Henry, he also does other tours as well, I will ask for him again.
