Buses Buses are great in Costa Rica. most of them are Mercedes Benz. As Puntarenas is over an hour and a half bus ride from San Jose, the bus is the best way to go. From the Fiesta Resort you take a cab to the town of Puntarenas (about $8.00 U.S.) and from the bus terminal there you take a bus which is about ($5.00 U.S.).
