Monkeys all over the place!

This was a great find for me and the family. My husband was in a fishing tournament and we were able to convince him to bring us along to Costa Rica. Byblos worked out perfect for us all. While my hubby was off in Quepos fishing everyday, the kids and I chose from a long list of tours (canopy zipline was their favorite and the National Park), and I was even able to get to the nearby spa. Heaven. The kids loved the pool with all the monkeys that visited everyday, made for great pictures that they shared when they went back to school. At night, the kids were able to play the free billiards, while the adults got to spend some time in the casino. It really allowed us all to have a little of everything. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Top Local Tips for Puerto Quepos

Take the Sansa!!! If you are headed straight there from the main airport, I highly recomend the short Sansa flight instead of the long drive. There is so much to see that there is no time to waste!

The weekends are CROWDED Make sure you get your tour guide outside the park - and make sure he/she has one of the large viewing cameras.

Without a guide you would not see the bats, two and three toed sloths, howler monkeys, crocodiles etc etc that all the other tourists miss. Having a guide also gives you the ability to take incredible pictures through their telescopes. Also, get to Manuel Antonio as early in the am as possible or you face huge lines. And if you want to snorkle at incredible beach #3 in Manuel Antonio pay attention to the tide tables - it's much nicer at low tide.
