from trekroadieBeautiful, spacious rooms in a quiet, tropical location: $100 per night.
Friendly staff willing to help you with your Spanish: a little effort on your part.
Quiet, tranquil beach without anyone around: 1 minute walk.
Enjoying a poolside, late afternoon Imperial with the howler monkeys: priceless

ll be back!!!
from lobo65The rooms were clean, large, and well decorated.
The staff was friendly and provided excellent customer service. The owner was always close by making sure that everyone's needs were met.
The restaurant menu provided a wide variety of traditional American selections as well as dishes that have a Costa Rican flair.
We will definitely be back.
Cudos to The Hideaway
from drfresaThe facility is brand new as of July 2008. There are only 12 rooms, so one enjoys personalized attention. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the tall trees surrounding the hotel are alive with howler monkeys in the morning. Breakfast, which was delicious, can be enjoyed by the pool.
The rooms are large, clean, air-conditioned and quiet!
The hotel is a 5-minute walk to Samara beach, which provides a lovely walking route to the town of Samara. In the other direction, one can walk about 10 minutes to lovely Playa Carrillo, a beautiful, crescent-shaped beach lined with coconut palms and affording some good body surfing.
What really makes the Hideaway shine is the people. The owners Rosy and Doug treat you like guests in their home, and the bilingual staff are friendly and helpful.
The Hideaway Hotel - Awesome Place to Stay
from cmeddWe went with two other couples and had an amazing time, the food was very tasty, the pool was relaxing and the staff was great to joke around with and teach us the local language.
They know all the local restaurants & places to visit and will book all your trips for you.
This is a very new hotel and all the rooms are very clean and spacious. They even have monkeys hanging from the trees and we spend many a afternoon sipping drinks, lying around the pool and laughing at their antics.
I can’t rave enough about this hotel, staff and where they are located – and if you like daily canters along the beach they actually bring the horses to the hotel…now that’s service!

from TexasLillyGreat place to stay!!
from pas4Monkeys and comfort at Playa Hideaway!
from UnteatheredAlso, the monkeys and colorful birds will serenade you alongside your walk.
I had the incredible experience of seeing a giant sea turtle lay her eggs under the Costa Rican moon in a protected preserve. The front desk is incredibly helpful in providing such suggestions in an authentic and caring manner that I have yet to encounter from any other hotels.
They also have a staff that is there to please in both English and Spanish, and gracious in any special requests. I cannot say enough about this property except that if you plan on booking a place to stay in Playa Samara, get in on this one soon. At rates and standards like this, word will get out soon. There is nothing nearby for miles that compares to this little slice of heaven in the Costa Rican jungle!
Exelent plase to stay

Departure tax Pay your Departure Tax when you arrive, so you don't have to stand in an extra line when you leave. You'll already be sad about going home!
a very nice place Playa Samara is a very beautifull place. With a nice beach and some good restautants. if you have car have a first trrip to the South to reach 3 or 4 other fantastic beaches. same to the North. In 3 days times you will enjoy a lot.
Relax and explore See the bullfight/tease if it's going on. Enjoy the relaxing beach, nearby forests, explore Carillo Beach. Do not come for the town, although it is cute, but very small. Plenty of good food options, like El Largato. Walk the whole beach, rent a kayak, swim, run, bike.
