Top Local Tips for Liberia

City Center In most places the place to orient yourself is the town square. In Liberia this sort of works, but since there is not much to this city, the orientation may not help much. There are a couple of reasonably well kept hotels around it. The hostels and cheap hotels are a couple of blocks off it to the south, but INSPECT your room before paying for it. You can get downtown from the PanAmerican highway from the bus station for a couplle of dollars. The bus station is abot 10 blocks NW of the city center The airport is about 15 kms west of the city. You can catch a bus west from the airport on the highway. Most Costa Rican buses are high quality and in good shape, as are their main highways. I would recommend not going into Liberia if you can avoid it.
