I went to Costa Rica for business but i did not want to stay in a noisy city, i decided to book La Catalina and was a perfect choice, High speed internet for free in the room, desk, telephone, Bar , Restaurant, Spa, gym, amazing views to relax after work.
Great place fr every kind of travelers.

Despite arriving in Costa Rica close to midnight, we were greeted at the airport by shuttle driver who drove us to Hotel La Catalina. The great service and smiling face we received on that first night is something that would continue for the two weeks that we spent at the hotel.
The rooms were incredibly clean on arrival, and were kept that way throughout our stay by the wonderful staff at this hotel. Breakfast was healthy and delicious every morning, and the opportunity to taste the various kinds of fruit available in Costa Rica was fantastic.

I stayed at the La Catalina Hotel with my husband and 2 young children (4 and 5 years old) We stayed for only 2 nights at the end of our trip before going to the airport. We had a day to kill and the staff were extremely helpful in organizing a private tour of a couple of popular sights for us. We ordered room service from the restaurant both nights after the kids had gone to bed. It was so delicious, everything was well presented and all this on our balcony overlooking the city and landscape. It was one of the most romantic moments of our lives. We used the pool one morning and it was very clean. Comfortable lounge chairs and pool towels for you convenience. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean!
Our room was wonderful. Clean, comfortable beds/pillows, spacious, fully stocked minibar. The balcony overlooks the pool and landscape. We didn't venture out of the hotel except by taxi so not sure what else was around but I would definitely return to find out! I honestly can't imagine why anyone would give this hotel anything less than 5 stars.

Heredia, Costa Rica the Catalina Hotel is a great place to visit. I was there last August and I came with my family and we had a great time. The kids were very entertained with all the activities available at the place. We enjoyed so much, the visit to the Poas volcano that is very close from the hotel. Also we spent most of the time in the hotel due to the activities as well playing tennis, table tennis and for the smaller kids there's a playground and swimming pool. I think that is very good for the bird watching lovers. We woke up very early to walk around the gardens and there were many species of birds, eating the blooming plants. We stayed one week and it was great. We ate very well, during the night you can enjoy the heated swimming pool or just take a cocktail next to the fireplace. We really appreciate the whole Catalina's staff for their attention. They were outstanding.

Great Mountain Hotel

Heredia, Costa Rica is great place for mountain and bird watching lovers. I was there last August and it was wonderful. We spend a great time visiting the Poas volcano that's very close from the hotel. We were delighted with the view of the valley so we spend long time enjoying the view from their restaurant and resting right next to the fireplace with a delicious cocktail and also in the fresh mornings you can go out of your room and watch a lot of species of birds around the lush gardens at the area or play a great tennis game.

The people here were the friendliest people I have ever met in my travels around the world. They had wonderful suggestions for us, tours, trails, sights to see.
The food was simply the best. I never had one bad meal, and I ate everything.
This was the way a vacation should be. And we can't wait to go back

I stayed in this Hotel for my honeymoon in a beautiful room with a great view from the city. This hotel is peaceful and safe, and the restaurant food is delicious.

I was in Costa Rica for 15 days and at the end of the trip I stayed in La Catalina, it is really nice, sorrounding by mountains, trees and with a gorgeous view from the city. I love it.

We went to La Catalina for 3 nights, but we just loved it. The place is great, the food excellent and the staff so so kind. We will come back.

Top Local Tips for Heredia

Tours We took 3 all day tours. 5 in One - trip to volcano, waterfall, coffee farm, river tour, rain forest. "Best of the Pacific" - went to a private resort for lunch and their beach. "Zip Line Canopy Tour" There are many of these. I don't remember the specific name. The place was owned by a group of Israelies. My husband wanted to zip so bad and I was not sure I could get up the nerve. I did and it was GREAT!. You have to try. We are 56 years old.

Great nitelife - just ask the driver and he We'll be back!
