Artist Festival The Placencia Peninsula Atrs Association holds an annual Arts Festival the second week-end in February. This two-day festival attracts artists and traditional craftsmen from all parts of Belize. Try to schedule your visit to Calico Jack's to coincide with the Placencia Arts Festival! The weather in Placencia is fabulous in February, too!

Low Season weather It's best to go during dry season, but we went at the beginning of the wet season and had beautiful weather, the rates are cheaper and it's less crowded which makes for a much more relaxed vacation. We were there from 6-22-07 to 7-2-07. It rained only twice, and cleared up. We had 2 nights with thunder storms, one with rain, one without. They were amazing to watch.

Rental cars The best way to get around the is if you have a rental car. This allows you to move around a little better at your own pace. Sometimes as a tourist and not knowing people of the country prices for turs can get a liitle pricey. If you have your own vehicle this allows you to drive to some of the Maya Ruins yourself and get around the country.
