Yes, there's a nightlife but not a lot. Stick around the Princess Hotel area. Bunch of clubs in the area. If you are looking for "something else" you have to leave the city but it's there. The local clubs are hot and not really touristy but people are great and I never had any issues. It's a place to dance. I don't know that I would recommend it alone, especially for women, but as a group it should be fine. Keep in mind you are NOT on south beach, you are in Belize.

Just be aware of where you are Mopan is located right next to the hub-bub of everything. Do not be so out of it that you do not enjoy the city, but just go with the flow and know you are in a third world county.
