Historical Traveller Reviews of Turks & Caicos Club Hotel

A little let down, but still enjoyed it!

from Cindy in KY
We were there from 4/10-15. For starters, the Complimentary Shuttle did not show to pick us up from the airport. We ended up taking a cab. At check-in, no mention was made of it. When taking us to the room, we were advised that the cook had quit so Simba was not open for dinner; lunch service was now over (it was about 2) and the bar was closed! Not a good start. Additionally, the web-site and room confirmation indicated it included continental breakfast, but we never saw it. The room itself was nice -- we were in 13 on the second floor facing the ocean. The bed was very comfortable as was the rest of the room, but the bathroom was marginal -- tacky fiberglass shower, very small toilet, and single sink with countertop set very low for short people.
The beach was nice and you could snorkel close by in front of Coral Gardens which was really nice. Turks and Caicos Club had snorkel equipment in a giant garbage can, but I'm not too sure about the cleanliness of the snorkels. There were also kayaks and a catamaran available. We took the kayak for a long ride. The breakwaters are maybe 1/2 out, so the waters are very calm. There is a small pool area, but it is out of site from the beach, so we did not go to the pool. The beach is great for walking. We walked almost the entire Grace Bay area.
They skipped turn down service one evening. The beach was very quiet -- too quiet. Roads in St. Kitts are very bad -- about like driving on swiss cheese. Food prices are higher than other Caribbean Resort destinations. We ate at Baci (excellent), Hemingways (O.K.) and Anacaona (very good). Overall, we had a relaxing time, but I don't think we will return.

Simply beautiful

We recently stayed at this beautiful "boutique" hotel. The gardens were lush with flowers and vegetation, with a delightful pool. The suites were elegantly furnished as though they were in India, with exceptionally well equipped kitchens, TV and entertainment centres. The four poster bed was enormous and comfortable but rather high to get into, and the bathroom was rather small in comparison to the rest of the suite. The Simba restaurant served excellent food and we were charmed by the waitress's "would you like a glimpse of the dessert menu?" All the staff were charming and helpful. There is a delightful boardwalk to the beach with a pile of towels and children's toys to choose from and we really recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a vacation away from it all.

Perfect Resort for the whole family

Our entire family stayed at Turks and Caico Club for eight nights this February. My 76 year old mother, my husband and 6 year old son. We are were very pleased with the faciltities and service. First off, this place is immaculate--from the rooms, stairwells, restaurant and grounds. Everything was perfectly maintained. The gardens were lush with flowers and there were even herbs and vegetables planted. We had a two bedroom, third floor corner unit. It was bright and airey. The kitchen was first class with lots of counter space, kithenaide appliances plus nice dishes (with coordinated placemats) and high quality cookware. Lots of nice touches like a candle in the bedroom, stacks of fresh pool towels by the beach and pool, beach toys and snorkel gear, good bath products, etc. The staff was warm and caring.
Probably the nicest of any Caribean island. Compared to what I heard from other travelers staying at the Point and the Sands, Turks and Caicos Club was much more welcoming to children. If there is a down side, please be aware this is not a Four Seasons style resort. The bathrooms are a bit plain, the pillows are not down and there is not a dedicated concierge. Plus, the price of a two bedroom at high season is steep. Still all in all it was just as pleasant experience as any Four Seasons. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend it highly.

Wonderful Resort

from SallyScuba
My husband and I stayed at the Turks and Caicos Club from 2/7-2/14 to celebrate our 25th anniversary - we had a wonderful time. The room was lovely, if you needed anything - no problem- the service was prompt and courteous. The beach is clean and quiet, Simba is very good. The reason I gave a 4 rating and not a 5 is because 5 star hotels/resorts have the ability to anticipate guests needs- the Turks and Caicos Club is not quite there. We will be sure to go back in a couple of years and I'm sure they will deserve a 5 rating as it is evident that they are working hard.

Caicos Club - Excellent staff, gorgeous beach

from A TripAdvisor Member
We joined our friends who had stayed at the Turks & Caicos Club earlier this year for the holidays. We each had a beautiful one bedroom oceanfront suite that overlooked the gorgeous Grace Bay Beach. Our ten days at this small beachfront hotel were very relaxing and perfect for us. We are building a home on Provo, and this is the kind of place that makes you feel like its a home away from home. I think it has some of the best staff on the island, beautiful setting, good food at Simba (we had an excellent prix fixe New Year's seven course dinner with lobster, chateaux brillant...) and provides a nice small upscale atmosphere without all the snooty fuss. We also noted that this is the only nice hotel that allows children and although not many people bring them, it's nice to know we can return with our grandkids. Point Grace wouldn't allow our grandkids or pets. We also met some other wonderful people staying at this hotel and I'm not sure we would have ever if we stayed at a larger hotel.

RnR At Its Finest

I recently had the opportunity to visit the island of Providenciales and decided to stay at the brand new Turks and Caicos Club. If you are in search of complete privacy, with virtually your own beach, without missing the creature comforts of home, then this is the place. Each unit is a condo-like apartment, fully equipped with every possible amenity. This resort also has a 5-star restaurant (Simba) on its premises that is superb.

Caicos Club Heaven

Wow! What a beach! We kept saying this all week! The Turks & Caicos Club is on Grace Bay and it's the most incredible beach! Little surf and a beautiful clear blue water. The air and water temperatures daily were a perfect 85 degrees. Very friendly staff and just an overall likeable place because of its small size. It's the kind of resort you feel right at home at. The suites are quite large and nicely decorated. 12 miles of sand and sea is my kind of destination! Don't miss the good food at Simba, too! Good thing there was a fitness room!!

Tranquil beauty, relaxed luxury

from HappyMom46
I spent 5 nights at this marvelous hotel in early November 2003 and couldn't have picked a nicer spot. I was travelling alone, looking for some peace and pampering, and found both. The staff was incredibly accomodating, helping me to feel comfortable even as a solo traveller.
The rooms were outstanding -- tasteful, luxurious, huge suites with incredible oceanfront views from the step-up bedroom (with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on), the large living / kitchen / dining room, and the enormous patio overlooking the dunes and the ocean. This is a peaceful place on a quiet stretch of the beach, a family-owned small boutique hotel. Rates included marvelous french-style continental-plus breakfast of fruit, yogurt / cheese, croissant / fresh-baked bread. Food at Simba was great but pricey (this is true all over Provo, and having the in-room kitchen for snacks, etc.
is a huge help). There is a good snorkelling reef a 3 minute walk down the beach, which is a protected sanctuary offering not just good fish and decent coral, but large sea turtles in the sea grasses just a few feet from the reef. Massages are available in the spa in a hotel just a 3 minute walk down the beach or, better yet, in your room. The scuba diving in this area is unmatched in its pristine beauty. But this hotel makes it hard to leave the peaceful, beautiful, soft-sand, turquoise watered beach!

We spent five nights at the t&c club what a wonderful place the rooms (which have full kitchens) are georgous the grounds were beautiful this is a small property only 21 rooms so if you are looking for peace and quite this is it. the staff if great and the owner couldnt of been more hospitable. The beach was pristine and deserted you pretty much have it to yourself . I can only say good things about this property and we will definetly return.

Fabulous Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at this beautiful hotel. We are young at heart seniors. Our suite was large, immaculate with lovely decor and with a big balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. The pool area was beautifully landscaped, the water so clean and inviting. The staff was truly accomodating and friendly. We especially enjoyed Simba's restaurant, the food was absolutely gourmet and the hostess Marie Pierre was outstanding. We didn't go anywhere else on the island for dinner, why leave perfection. If you want a romantic, private, small hotel, this is it. Here is a hotel that will exceed your expectations. It has romance in the air, so age doesn't matter. It was the best vacation, totally relaxing, which is what we had hoped for.
Our special thanks to a wonderful lady named Rebecca.

Top Local Tips for Providenciales

$$$ Be prepared to spend a bundle on food, either at the grocery store or restaurant. Very expensive.

Grocery Store Grocery store is a few minutes away. Full service like in the US. Just ask the front desk to call you a cab.

Snorkel Buff's Paradise Bring your own snorkel gear if you have it. Lots available at the hotel, but my own mask always fits better. You can buy them at Caicos Adventures, too.
