Not up to luxury standards, or the price!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Unfortunately, we just returned after a disappointing stay and I feel compelled to let others know...especially those paying prices comparable with top luxury hotels in other resort locations. Although the rooms (condos) and beach are lovely at Point Grace, there is really no element of luxury service to speak of at the hotel. This group of low-rise condo buildings are run more from a management/concierge desk, rather than an office with a hotel/service orientation. To note: the beach was never raked; beach chairs were not attended to (ie. not made up in the mornings with towels, etc), and we never saw an attendant for drinks on the beach -- not once during our weeklong stay. On several occassions we had to call housekeeping for service and some requests were not met. More alarming, key hotel managers are new to the facility and island. I think it's a red flag that there should be so much turnover during the peak holiday season. The food is good and the some of the staff are lovely; however, if you've ever travelled to places like Cap Jaluca or Nevis, you expect more. Buyer beware!

The only negative thing I have to say about Point Grace is that I am concerned word is getting out. This is a top-notch resort for those that like their luxury delivered in small, boutique style doses. No cookie-cutter approach to luxury here.

We stayed in a cottage, but viewed most of the different rooms, and they are all wonderful. A tip if you are in the cottages -- ask for an upstairs one, the balcony is nicer and you can get a view of the water. We found the downstairs ones to be less inviting.

Food is incredible, and we would highly reccommend having them cook dinner in your room one night (all accomodations have full kitchens, although honestly we ate at Grace's Cottage most nights and found little reason to cook ourselves).

The staff and the atmosphere is laid back, but definitely focused on providing a fun, pampered experience. If you are looking to relax, enjoy the stunning beach, read, unwind, do nothing, etc. this is a great place.

If you want to bungee jump/water ski/ski dive/golf/tennis/shop, this may not be the place. There is golf and tennis available, but the main actvity here is unwinding.

Pampered at Point Grace

Outstanding beach, beautiful rooms, great service. Looking for a quiet romantic getaway at a small resort with all the little touches you look for at Four Seasons and other more well known resorts? This is your place. Buckets of ice with complimentary bottled water delivered to your complimentary Tiki hut on a perfect white sand beach that is raked to perfection every morning. Sorbet delivered to your side at the pool or the beach every afternoon. Complimentary managers coctails and tasty treats to kick off the evening, get to know other guests and share experiences of where to eat, snorkle and explore. Want it, but don't see it on the menu? No problem...they will make it for you. Managers and staff always making sure that your every whim is satisfied. Relaxing massage while listening to the surf. Garden view suites will exceed your expectations, with air conditioning to spare (not always a given at Carribean destinations). If this is what you are looking for, you'll find it at Point Grace. Enjoy.

Complete Relaxation

All the reviews I read were correct. This place is not for kids. We just came back and had the most wonderful relaxing six days of our lives. The room, service and food were outstanding. Anyone that appreciates the best things that life has to offer will fall in love with this place. Needless to say the beach is awesome, comparable or better than Anguilla. We will be returning.

Point Grace was fun

from Tim_Ingersoll
Just returned from a week at Point Grace. We stayed in East 104 which is an Atlantic Suite. Very nice accommodations. The kitchen was remarkably stylish and modern. The resort is pricey and not particularly family friendly. The pool is a "quiet zone" which means children are supposed to not play games, jump in the pool or generally have fun. Thank goodness there were other families there and the rule was roundly ignored. This is a place for people for whom money is not a concern. We had no problems with service.

A little slice of Heaven!

WOW......what an incredible spot we found in Turks and Caicos! We were there in May and had originally booked a different hotel. We were staying down the beach when we took a walk and found Point Grace. We immediately went back to the other hotel, packed up and even paid a "cancellation" fee just so we could have the rest of our stay at Point Grace. The rooms are beautiful, the views from the terrace are fabulous. Beverly Williams was the Asst. Manager on duty during our stay and couldn't have been nicer. The food at Graces' Cottage was wonderful as were all the meals we had on the island! The spa there is "one of a kind" with outdoor "hut" style treatment rooms that allowed me to hear the ocean during my massage! WOW... what a little slice of heaven. We are already booked for next May!!!

Beautiful Resort - o.k. service ...

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Resort was beautiful, the rooms very clean but the service could be a little better.

DONT eat at the restaurant in the resort, go next door to Hemmingways, the price is 50% cheaper & better food. Watch out for the Major Attitude most of the Locals have down there.

The Turks & Caicos is one of the best beaches in the world for sure, but I wont go back because of bad service on the island in general and the Bad Attitude the native people have towards tourists.

Not everybody but al least 75%.

Best relaxing holiday

from Tracy
I have read all the reviews and I can not believe all the bad comments.I stayed at Point Grace in the summer so the place was slow and the beach was empty.I stayed in a two bedroom beach front room with the beach right out side my door, and the room I would say the best room I have ever seen, and I have been to many five star resorts. The staff are very friendly but not in your face like The Four Seasons in Maui if thats the kind of service your looking for stay there do not come here. The food and service at Graces Cottage was great and I would say just as good as any fine dinning restaurant I have been at.The resort is very classy. If you want the best beach in the world with an amazing room and the resorts on the best location you have to come here at least once in your life.Be prepared to be left alone to relax and enjoy your holiday. No real pampering here.

loved the room

Just came back from Pt. Grace, if you are looking for R&R this is the place for you. The beach is a powder white 12 mile beach. The rooms are beautiful w/ four poster beds, and you own kitchen, stainless steel app. and granite counter tops. The help was friendly and would go out of their way for any request you may have. The pool area was beautiful as well. The massages were mediocere. I had booked 2 one hour massages w/ 2 different people by e-mail and it took quiet a while for the management company to e-mail me a conformation. When my boyfriend and I went for our massages one of the massage therapists made us aware that only one therapist was available and it was her. So my boyfriend had to come back an hour later which wasn't right considering the hotel did e-mail me a conformation. Breakfast and lunch were good although the menu had some things on it that weren't available. (ie: conch & lobster) Until the last day we were there. Dinner was ok but definately did not warrent the price. And since all the meals were served outdoors, you got eaten up alive by mousquitos at dinner so put on a lot of OFF. Otherthan that Pt. Grace is like heaven. Definately would go back for a little 2 or 3 day getaway.10/20/03

Alone at Point Grace

This IS a beautiful place; the pool and the beach are great. You can cook for yourself in a perfectly modern kitchen and eat on a balcony overlooking the most incredible beach with astounding sunsets. If there were no staff, other than the helpful beach guy, then this place would be great. The staff are in a word incompetent. I think its more from not being taught what is expected at such a place than unwillingness.
One of many examples: We asked that a mother's day card be sent as soon as we arrived. Two weeks later, we asked for a map and saw the card still sitting in the draw. Needless to say this was unsettling. You can enjoy this place if you totally lower your expectations for service and don't think about bringing kids.

Turks and Caicos Mosquitos can be a problem. I recommend you wear bug spray, especially around your feet and ankles.

Expensive! Had some great meals - Coyoba and Grace's Cottage - but man were they expensive!
