Get a cab from the airport, then rent a car Driving in St. Lucia is tricky, but possible. I'd recommend getting a cab when you first arrive to get the lay of the land, get used to being on the left (that is, if you're from a place where you don't normally drive on the left). There is very little signage to tell you what road you're on, or what town you're in, but you'll figure it out in a couple of days.

buses Venture out and ride the buses, which are more like an extended minivan or a minibus. you can ride the bus from rodney bay to souifere, you will have to get off and transfer to another bus, but this can save you some money on tour and such. the bus fee is less than a US dollar. i found the bus to be very timely.
