Top Local Tips for Castries
Take good footwear I think St Lucia has lots of outdoor things to do to truly appreciate the Island as it is very green, lush and hilly. So take your good walking boots to truly appreciate it.
Get a rental Car Even though it may look intimidating and frightening, I'd encourage anyone to go rent a car and drive around Saint Lucia. It'll cost less than hiring a taxi everytime, and you can see all of the beautiful sights without having to pay hundreds for a tour. You get to do things on your own time, which is a plus. Don't worry about getting a big car, we just got the smallest available (A toyota camry) and it worked out fine. The roads in Saint Lucia are small and very winding, so you don't want a big vehicle. Just make sure you take the time to practice. Driving on the left takes some time getting used to.
