Top Local Tips for Castries
See the Pitons from the sea We hired a car and drove round the island. When we got to Soufriere we hired a chap and his little fishing boat to take us round between the Pitons to Jalousie Bay (about $US30 for the 2 of us). There is a stunning underwater 'wildlife park' for snorkelling there. It's a great little trip and if you do it direct on the scene (rather than going on one of the big boats) then you are helping the local economy.
Imigration and customs Fill in the forms very carefully. You are going to have to queue when you arrive, so make sure they don't send you to the back because your forms have not been filled in properly.
Local buses Use the local mini buses - they stop anywhere and average fare is $2EC!
